This is a pro­ce­dure used to turn a baby that is breech (the wrong way up) or trans­verse (lay­ing side­ways) so nat­u­ral birth can oc­cur. Usu­ally per­formed at 37 weeks, you’re of­ten given an in­jec­tion to re­lax your uterus, fol­lowed by your doc­tor or mid­wife plac­ing pres­sure on your ab­domen to en­cour­age your baby to turn.
