Little Treasures - - NEWBORN DAYS -

“I had two done with my eldest,” says Brooke Withy. A membrane sweep is designed to help encourage labour by ‘sweeping’ away the membranes attaching the amniotic sack to the cervix. “The midwife told me she would put her (gloved) fingers up to my cervix and there would be pressure. She told me if it was painful, I could ask her to stop.” Brooke’s son was born at 41 weeks.
