Scheme helps St John

Manawatu Guardian - - FROM THE EDITOR -

There is always a callout and the St John Ambulance officers are ready for action.

Palmerston North Area Committee member Brian Crothers was on hand to thank the city for their generosity during the April annual appeal which helps to run the ambulance service and the many community services it has to offer.

St John also has a Supporter Scheme where you pay a small annual subscription and receive free emergency ambulance cover for you and your family.

Brian said the annual subscription price was less than a single emergency ambulance part-charge.

“Any excess funds from the subscriptions helps to buy new equipment and vehicles for the ambulance service and provide the essential services to the community.”

Those services include running the ambulance service, the Health Shuttles, Friends of the Emergency Department, ASB St John in Schools, Caring Caller and the St John Youth programme.
