Manawatu Guardian - - NEWS -

Five candidates have put their names forward for Horizon Regional Council’s byelection.

Ross Barber, Jack Dowds, Jono Naylor, Grant Seton and Chris Teo-Sherrell will be at the Meet the Candidates at the Palmerston North Convention Centre, 5.30pm, August 14 where the community can hear from the candidates and ask questions.

Electoral officer Craig Grant says elected council members need to be able to relate to a wide range of community members with a range of views on how the region’s environment should be managed. Voting papers will be delivered to Palmerston North households from Thursday August 30 and must be returned by mail at noon on Friday September 21.

The public can view each candidate’s profile statement online at www.hori

Preliminary results for the by-election are expected to be available on September 24, with final results expected to be ready for release on September 26.
