Postal service putting its stamp on Manawatu¯

-

Whitestone Post posties are on the street delivering mail in the Manawatu¯.

The limited liability company started in Oamaru as a franchise five years ago but Palmerston North is now its head office.

Whitestone shareholder and sales and marketing manager Jon Norfolk says it’s the company’s intention to be a nationwide postal service within three years with the Rangitikei, Whanganui, Hamilton and Auckland’s North Shore soon to be included in its postal delivery.

“Many industries still rely heavily on postal services,” Jon said.

He added that Whitestone Post offers competitive prices and promises next business day delivery throughout the region.

The company has priced its standard letters at 90 cents which sells pre-paid envelopes of all sizes and stamps and offers free of charge pick-ups for their clients. More than 150 businesses regionally use Whitestone Post.

Mail is processed in Palmerston North, franked then sorted into their regions, dispatched overnight and delivered the following business day.

“Any mail that is outside our delivery region is on-delivered by NZ Post.”

All letters delivered by Whitestone Post posties are GPS tracked, so there’s no missing mail, said Jon.

“We are in discussion with local retailers who are very keen to not only sell our products but happy that they can promote a local company that offers a superior service.”

Whitestone Post will be available in local shops soon but emphasises it only handles mail, not parcels.

The company also has a good working relationship with NZ Post.
