Entertain Us showcases singing, dancing and Manawatu¯ talent
The Regent on Broadway showcased Manawatu¯ talent on Saturday night in the Melody’s New World Entertain Us talent show.
Nine acts of singers, dancers and gymnasts Zero Gravity wowed the audience, who showed their appreciation with loud approval.
Dancing duo Kaea and Diego entertained with a high-powered dance that raised the audience applause and also won the judges’ unanimous decision as winners of the first prize, a $2000 cheque from Melody’s New World.
The duo was named in the top three acts alongside 12-year-old solo singer Olivia Robinson and Dean McKerra’s Little Ladies Hip Hop dancers who returned to the stage later to show their talents.
Kaea and Diego added to their performance with a theatrical and dance piece of Where’s Wally, which clinched the top spot.
Olivia and the Little Ladies each won $100 from Melody’s New World.
New World’s continuous improvement manager Morgan Melody said the retailer loved being a part of Entertain Us.
“It was such a fun evening and the acts were incredible and very engaging.
“Melody’s has been part of the Manawatu¯ community for 45 years now and we have grown with the region.
“We love the opportunity to support local talent and Entertain Us gave us a chance to support a large range of ethnicities and ages.
“Being an active part of the community is one of the many things we are proud of at Melody’s.
“We were so impressed with the level of talent on stage and the whole evening flowed so well.”
