Application for grants
Applications opened on September 19 for the council’s Strategic Priority Grants (SPG). The triennial grants, previously known as Fee for Service, have been renamed to more accurately reflect their purpose. Not-for-profit and social enterprise groups will be awarded threeyear contracts and funding for projects and programmes that contribute towards council’s newly adopted strategic goals. General manager community Debbie Duncan says the funding is aimed at activating the potential of the community to help deliver council’s strategic direction, building and encouraging community capacity, leadership and co-ordination, and empowering local groups to take ownership of programmes that address local issues.
She said grant recipients will play important community support roles with outcomes across a range of social, environmental and cultural sectors. Details are on the council’s website: www.pncc.govt.nz/council-city/ community-funding/strategic-prioritygrants/
A series of drop-in information sessions for interested groups began on September 21 until November 19 when applications close.
