Veainu stars
Former Crusaders and Highlanders flyer Telusa Veainu made a spectacular comeback to help the Leicester Tigers secure their best English rugby premiership win since Aaron Mauger took charge. Veainu – out since suffering a head injury on test duty with Tonga last October – scored a try and set up another in Leicester’s 50-17 home win over bottom team Bristol yesterday. Mauger’s backline was bolstered by the return of Veainu at fullback and Springboks test wing JP Pietersen, who scored two tries. The pair were playing their first premiership match in 2017.
