CHRISTMAS TREES

Auckland Council is asking people to dispose of their Christmas trees responsibly following a spate of illegal dumping across the region. In the last week there have been more than 30 incidents of illegally dumped trees. Auckland Council’s Ian Stupple says if people chose to buy and decorate a tree for Christmas, they have a responsibility to dispose of it properly. He says Illegal dumping costs Auckland ratepayers more than $1 million annually.
