Bik­ers pre­pare for show

The 2017 New Zealand Mo­tor­cy­cle show is next month at the ASB Show­grounds in Green­lane.

It’s a ma­jor fundraiser or­gan­ised by Pa­pakura Ro­tary which raised $140,000 in 2016.

This went to groups in­clud­ing the Na­tional Burn Unit at Mid­dle­more Hos­pi­tal, Youth Driver Aware­ness Pro­gramme and ed­u­ca­tion schol­ar­ships for dis­ad­van­taged youth.

This year’s show will cel­e­brate the 50th an­niver­sary of Burt Munro’s speed record.

Indian NZ have cus­tomised a brand new Scout in trib­ute to Munro. It will be auc­tioned on TradeMe start­ing at a $1 re­serve with all pro­ceeds go­ing to char­ity.

Mo­tor­cy­cle group Ride For­ever are also spon­sor­ing the event. They’ll be of­fer­ing tips and give­aways on cour­ses to im­prove peo­ple’s rid­ing.

There will be 100,000 square feet of in­door dis­play space fea­tur­ing bikes from all ma­jor man­u­fac­tur­ers with new mod­els and latest re­leases on dis­play.

Vis­i­tors can also regis­ter for the chance to win a brand new Royal En­field Clas­sic 350. Many other prizes are up for grabs.
