Po­lice have charged aman fol­low­ing a bru­tal at­tack on a news­pa­per de­liv­ery man in South Auck­land last week­end. The 46-year-old vic­tim was sit­ting in his car, wait­ing to pick up bun­dles of a Sun­day news­pa­per, when he was at­tacked by twomen ‘‘armed with a firearm, knife and a brick’’. On Fri­day evening, Coun­ties Manukau po­lice said they had charged a 20-year-old man with wound­ing with in­tent to cause griev­ous bod­ily harmin re­la­tion to the in­ci­dent. He was also charged with two counts of ag­gra­vated rob­bery. Those charges re­lated to an in­ci­dent three days prior at a lo­cal take­away store, and an­other in­ci­dent ear­lier in the week at the Or­mis­ton Z Ser­vice Sta­tion, po­lice said. The man was due to ap­pear in the Manukau District Court.
