Police have charged aman following a brutal attack on a newspaper delivery man in South Auckland last weekend. The 46-year-old victim was sitting in his car, waiting to pick up bundles of a Sunday newspaper, when he was attacked by twomen ‘‘armed with a firearm, knife and a brick’’. On Friday evening, Counties Manukau police said they had charged a 20-year-old man with wounding with intent to cause grievous bodily harmin relation to the incident. He was also charged with two counts of aggravated robbery. Those charges related to an incident three days prior at a local takeaway store, and another incident earlier in the week at the Ormiston Z Service Station, police said. The man was due to appear in the Manukau District Court.
