Marlborough Express - The Saturday Express, Marlborough - - EXPRESS ROUNDUP -

The Saturday Express (PG) has two tickets to give away to the fantasy/ fairytale movie Mirror Mirror. To enter the draw, clip this item and deliver it with your name, address and daytime telephone number on the back of an envelope to Movie Giveaway, Saturday Express, P O Box 242, Blenheim 7240, by Wednesday. Winners will be published in The Marlborough Express on Friday. At first glance heroes seems a rather pretentious title for those who help others.

Local hero Zayd Ian Blissett certainly thinks so.

But, on reflection, it’s a great way to describe those folk who quietly go about doing good in our midst.

Zayd Ian has had a fascinating journey – from Britain to America to Korea to New Zealand, finally settling in Blenheim.

He has made his mark here, using his life experiences to enrich the lives of others.

Over the coming weeks we’ll be bringing you more about the Marlborough residents named local heroes in the Kiwibank New Zealander of the Year Awards. Naturally, they’re a modest bunch, but their stories deserve to be told and we’re pleased to have the opportunity to do that. Congratulations to every one of them.
