Marlborough Express - The Saturday Express, Marlborough - - WHAT’S ON - CARLY GOOCH

Customers will be able to see if their pooch really is pint sized at the Bark & Brews event in Nelson on June 23.

The Craft Beer Depot is inviting punters to take along their dogs for an afternoon of fun with one dollar from every beer sold going to two Nelson dog rescue organisations.

The bar’s courtyard at Wakatu Square carpark will come alive with a fair-like atmosphere, live music, puppy kissing booth and something for the whole family to enjoy – with or without a dog.

Craft Beer Depot managing director Brandon Turnage said raising money for The Nelson ARK and Second Chance was something close to his heart after fostering a number of dogs through the organisations.

‘‘We’re dog lovers through and through.’’

The Nelson ARK takes rescue dogs, trains them up and gets them in shape for forever homes while turning the lives around of disconnected youth.

Second Chance finds forever homes for dogs that have been dumped, abused or neglected.
