The Rai Valley Leos Club have all the answers. Or at least it seems that way after another successful quiz night on June 10.
In its third consecutive year, the quiz continues to prove a popular event with locals hoping to pitch their wits against teachers and other staff.
While the teachers did win out again, the real focus was on the $1140 dollars raised.
Half the money will be donated to volunteer emergency services in the township, while the other half will contribute towards subsidising a number of student trips and excursions at Rai Valley Area School.
Club president and year 12 student from Rai Valley Area School, Martinett Gouws, believes the success of the event is down to ‘‘how well the Leos work together.’’ ‘‘It’s a real team effort,’’ she says.
A special mention should also go out to the Rai Valley Tavern which kindly donated the use of their function room as well as making a generous donation towards the total raised. Thanks should also be given to Ian and Brian Cameron from the Havelock Lions who continue to provide time and support for the Leos.
