A glass of wine enjoyed in front of her outdoor fire is the best way to end a long day, says blogger Simone Anderson.

Health and lifestyle blogger Simone Anderson lives in a chic Mt Eden home with her partner Trent and a few flatmates.

Having risen to internet fame in 2015 after posting photos of her remarkable 88 kilogram weight loss on social media, the lifestyle blogger continues to share her journey and update her 287,000 Facebook and 226,000 Instagram followers on healthy living.

At the end of a long day, Anderson loves nothing more than relaxing in the outdoor area of her stylish new flat, close to Auckland’s CBD. ‘‘I love our sheltered outdoor area where you can light an outdoor fire and relax with a big glass of wine,’’ she said.

Describe your house in two sentences

Light and bright with a modern, minimal feel. Simple, fresh styling with statement New Zealand art features.

First thing you do when you get home each day

I throw my bag in my room and jump straight into the kitchen to cook a fresh meal.

Best new buy

My $55 brass and woven seats from Kmart.

Favourite artwork or family treasure and why you love it

An old bus scroll I found on Trade Me and had framed.

Proudest DIY moment

Unfortunately I don’t have great DIY experiences, so I have now given up and try to find bargains instead.

Favourite spot to relax (and what do you do there?)

I love our sheltered outdoor area where you can light an outdoor fire and relax with a big glass of wine.

Favourite way of entertaining

With a big cheese platter and outside with the wood fire burning.

I can’t live without

My Tony Sly pottery – an entertainer’s dream.

Best money I ever spent on the house

All my art, it’s the first thing you notice when you come in and adds a stunning bold touch.

What’s one trick you’ve learnt over the years

If you just do a small amount each day, it never builds up and gets out of hand. That way, you never do big jobs, rather a few small ones each day.

Modern and minimal are bywords in Anderson’s home. She counts this $49 brass side table as her favourite piece of furniture.

Anderson enjoys hunting for bargains, rather than DIY. Her best buy recently is this Kmart brass chair which cost $55.

Walls are decorated with much-loved art. ‘‘It’s the first thing you notice when you come in and adds a stunning bold touch.’’
