Blooming good show on again

Matamata Chronicle - - News -

Phone entries close at midday on Thursday, November 18 and categories include open, novice, first-time exhibitor, speciality classes, cut flowers and shrubs, plus junior and intermediate.

Trophies are available for the extra special blooms and Mrs Hawes said the judges are looking for two key things.

‘‘ It’s all about freshness and substance. The categories are mostly roses but there are other sections as well including cut flowers and shrubs,’’ Mrs Hawes said.

‘‘When you walk through the door, the colour and the scent will blow you away.’’

Judging will take place from 10am to 12pm on the Friday, then members of the public are welcome to view the show between 12pm and 5.30pm. Entry is $3 per person with primary and intermediate school children free.
