Just over the hill in the stun­ning Bay of Plenty lies a hot­bed of op­por­tu­nity – Bay of Plenty Polytech­nic. With more than 120 pro­grammes on of­fer there’s sure to be some­thing to suit ev­ery in­ter­est.

The Polytech­nic’s pro­grammes are bro­ken down into four schools. De­sign and Hu­man­i­ties cover all the cre­ative pro­grammes rang­ing from Art, Fashion, Graphic De­sign, Mu­sic and Ra­dio, as well a range of teach­ing (Early Child­hood and Teacher Aide), Beauty (Hair­dress­ing, Mas­sage, Cos­me­tol­ogy, Re­tail Phar­macy and Beau­ti­cian), and health re­lated pro­grammes (Health Care As­sis­tant, Mental Health, Di­a­betes and Dementia).

The School also runs pro­grammes de­signed to get you ready to study – aimed at peo­ple who ei­ther have been out of ed­u­ca­tion for a num­ber of years or who don’t have enough NCEA cred­its to get into the pro­gramme of their choice.

The School of Ap­plied Sci­ences cov­ers pro­grammes such as Ma­rine Stud­ies, En­vi­ron­men­tal Man­age­ment, Hor­ti­cul­ture, Mar­itime, An­i­mal Care and Sport and Recre­ation.

If you are a more hands-on sort of per­son then check out the School of Ap­plied Technology who of­fer pro­grammes in Ar­chi­tec­ture, Au­to­mo­tive, Con­struc­tion, Com­mer­cial Road Trans­port, Elec­tron­ics, En­gi­neer­ing, Weld­ing and Law En­force­ment.

The largest of the four schools is the School of Busi­ness. Pro­grammes range from Busi­ness Ad­min­is­tra­tion, Busi­ness and Man­age­ment Stud­ies, Com­put­ing, Hos­pi­tal­ity, Le­gal Stud­ies, Con­veyanc­ing, Lo­gis­tics, Real Es­tate and Tourism.
