Just over the hill in the stunning Bay of Plenty lies a hotbed of opportunity – Bay of Plenty Polytechnic. With more than 120 programmes on offer there’s sure to be something to suit every interest.
The Polytechnic’s programmes are broken down into four schools. Design and Humanities cover all the creative programmes ranging from Art, Fashion, Graphic Design, Music and Radio, as well a range of teaching (Early Childhood and Teacher Aide), Beauty (Hairdressing, Massage, Cosmetology, Retail Pharmacy and Beautician), and health related programmes (Health Care Assistant, Mental Health, Diabetes and Dementia).
The School also runs programmes designed to get you ready to study – aimed at people who either have been out of education for a number of years or who don’t have enough NCEA credits to get into the programme of their choice.
The School of Applied Sciences covers programmes such as Marine Studies, Environmental Management, Horticulture, Maritime, Animal Care and Sport and Recreation.
If you are a more hands-on sort of person then check out the School of Applied Technology who offer programmes in Architecture, Automotive, Construction, Commercial Road Transport, Electronics, Engineering, Welding and Law Enforcement.
The largest of the four schools is the School of Business. Programmes range from Business Administration, Business and Management Studies, Computing, Hospitality, Legal Studies, Conveyancing, Logistics, Real Estate and Tourism.
