Matamata Chronicle - - News - By NICKI DAVIDSON

Houses sparkling with fairy lights, grinning reindeer leaping towards the sky, Santa passing out lollies – over the years you’ve probably driven past some sensational entries in the Professionals Christmas Light Spectacular.

So why not add your home to the festivities?

Entry into the Light Up Christmas competition is free and the Professionals’ Margaret Troughton said they would like to challenge the Matamata community to really get behind it.

‘‘The lights create so much warmth and help everyone get into the Christmas spirit,’’ Mrs Troughton said.

Different categories include best-lit rural home, best-lit residential home and best new entrant. There will also be a lucky prize draw.

‘‘In the past Findlater St, Sharp Pl and Lancewood Court have really stood out, it’s great when the streets combine and they all light up,’’ she said.

Entry forms are available from the Professionals office at 41 Arawa St.

Entries close on December 14 and judging will take place on the evening of December 14 and 15.
