Green God­dess to do lunch

The Pohlen Foun­da­tion has had an ex­tremely busy time and looks for­ward to the fi­nal event of the year – the an­nual Ladies’ Lun­cheon at Long­lands next Fri­day, Novem­ber 26.

This is the fourth lun­cheon and the foun­da­tion is de­lighted to an­nounce Wendyl Nis­sen as the 2010 guest speaker.

Ms Nis­sen writes for the New Zealand Her­ald, NZ Woman’s Weekly and is a com­men­ta­tor on cur­rent af­fairs and the me­dia on New­stalk ZB. She is an author and self­pro­claimed ‘‘Green God­dess’’.

She is look­ing for­ward to meet­ing the ladies of Mata­mata and will most def­i­nitely be bring­ing a se­lec­tion of her books to sign and sell.

This year a Christ­mas lun­cheon has been planned with lamb, berry pavlova roll and the first Christ­mas cake of the sea­son.

Ev­ery­one will re­ceive a gift cour­tesy of main spon­sor Unichem.

Tick­ets are $75 and in­clude a com­pli­men­tary glass of bub­bles or juice on ar­rival.

Tick­ets are avail­able from Unichem, 54 Arawa St Mata­mata.

Pro­ceeds will go to­wards a re­place­ment foetal heart monitor for Pohlen Hos­pi­tal ma­ter­nity unit. Mata­mata Ki­wa­nis are as­sist­ing with this project.
