This week the Chron­i­cle in­di­vid­u­als nom­i­nated Mata­mata Sports Awards.

pro­files and teams for the Metso Pi­ako District played 21 games in the sea­son, win­ning all but four, with a 660 for and 237 against record.

– The Mata­mata Swifts’ first team gained two pro­mo­tions this year to fin­ish the 2010 sea­son in di­vi­sion 1 of the North­ern Re­gion Foot­ball League. This is the sec­ond high­est league for win­ter foot­ball in New Zealand and con­sists of teams from Whangarei down to Auck­land, Waikato and Tau­ranga.

This year Pit­con has um­pired at the New Zealand Un­der 17s and New Zealand Sec­ondary Schools tour­na­ments as well as Su­per 12 and her Thames Val­ley league.

She pro­vides men­tor­ing and coach­ing of other um­pires at her club and at Waikato level.

Rogers is a na­tion­ally qual­i­fied ref­eree, starter and in­spec­tor of turns. He was se­lected to of­fi­ci­ate as a starter at Na­tional Age Group cham­pi­onships and an in­spec­tor of turns at Na­tional Open Cham­pi­onships and Na­tional Short Course Age Group champs. Or­gan­iser of the Mata­mata Ju­nior Touch mod­ule, John­son is re­spon­si­ble for co-or­di­nat­ing en­tries and draws and train­ing the col­lege stu­dents who ref­eree the games. She is the co­man­ager of the Waikato Un­der 21 boys and coach of the Mata­mata Col­lege mixed team.
