Nominate for cheery Christmas
Do you know of senior citizens in Matamata who may be on their own and needing companionship over the festive season?
Home Instead Senior Care, a national in-home care provider for older people, has called for people to nominate senior citizens for some free Christmas home decorating and companionship in its annual Christmas Cheer programme.
Vetted volunteer carers will visit the successful nominees in the run-up to Christmas, putting up some decorations in their home and providing companionship during the visit.
Home Instead Senior Care’s chief executive Neil Farnworth said the programme was for a very worthy cause.
‘‘We want to bring the spirit of Christmas to older people who may be without family or deserving in other ways.’’
Nominations close on November 30 and successful people will be contacted and a visit arranged during the week starting December 13.
To make a nomination email firstname.lastname@example.org with Christmas Cheer as the subject line or phone Lyn Pettigrew on 07 834 2296.
