Residents invited to have a say

Matamata Chronicle - - Sports Awards -

In a 2006 survey, the community told MatamataPiako District Council urban flooding (stormwater) was the second highest concern in the district.

Improvements to the stormwater systems have been made over the last few years and now the council wants residents to have a say to help set council priorities for stormwater improvements for the next 10 years. Fill out the stormwater questionnaire found in last week’s Matamata Chronicle, at the council office, library or online at Please ensure your questionnaire reaches the council by this Friday.

The council is already aware of some areas where stormwater is a problem, however, there may be some issues it does not know about. Once the hot spots of the district have been identified, the community will be consulted on a range of prioritised work options.

If people are having trouble with the questionnaire they can contact council customer services on 0800 746 467.
