Three charged over aggravated robbery
Senior constable Martin Capener from Matamata Police flew to Christchurch on Monday to help his fellow colleagues in the earthquake stricken city.
Last Tuesday three men were allegedly involved in an aggravated robbery where a gun was presented. The trio allegedly made their way towards Matamata where police deployed road spikes.
They came to rest on the corner of Peria and Gunn roads. The men, aged between 30 and 40 years have been charged with aggravated robbery and will appear in the Hamilton District Court.
Matamata police would like to hear from anyone who has seen a red Holden Commodore with a black bonnet travelling between Morrinsville and Matamata about 11am.
A Holden Commodore, registration number OZ4938, was reported stolen at a Harwoods Rd address where it had been in storage.
Late at night a farm shed was broken into on State Highway 27.
Power tools and were reported stolen.
A 14 year old was dealt with in relation to theft and referred to Youth Aid.
Police attended a single motor vehicle accident on Tauranga Rd. There were no injuries.
There was a burglary at a Matamata house and a laptop was reported stolen.
A 19-year-old Matamata man was spoken to in relation to obstructing a police officer.
Police attended a motor vehicle accident on Te Poi South Rd where the driver sustained minor injuries.
A 46-year-old man was arrested for escaping police custody
A 30-year-old Waharoa man was arrested for assault.
