Condell said. It was the little things that were often hardest though, she said, such as the fact Lilly could not go on holiday with them because it unsettled her.
Also Lilly has to miss most birthday parties because she may cause problems. ‘‘You live in constant fear. ‘‘You are constantly looking for where she is, in case she has wandered off because she is often caught up in her own world.’’
Lilly has a specially trained dog, Lexie, who is there to not only be a friend to her but to protect her, comfort her and play with her.
