Arts fes­ti­val in the mak­ing

A new arts fes­ti­val is be­ing cre­ated in Mor­rinsville with an ex­cit­ing pro­gramme of events al­ready be­ing lined up.

Ev­ery day dur­ing the fes­ti­val there will be a dif­fer­ent pro­gramme of evening en­ter­tain­ment at the Wal­lace Gallery in­clud­ing mu­sic, theatre, dance and fash­ion from both ama­teur and pro­fes­sional groups.

Shops and busi­nesses in Mor­rinsville can get in­volved by be­com­ing part of an ‘‘Art Trail’’ through the town so vis­i­tors will be en­cour­aged to ex­plore the whole area. Each par­tic­i­pat­ing shop or busi­ness will be as­signed a Waikato artist who will do­nate works for win­dow dis­plays or re­cep­tion area dur­ing the fes­ti­val week.
