Res­i­dents come home to in­trud­ers

Mata­mata Po­lice in­ves­ti­gated a bur­glary on Banks Rd af­ter two men, one in his early 20s and one in his late 20s, were at the house when the oc­cu­pants ar­rived home. The two men left af­ter ask­ing for a per­son and then the oc­cu­pants no­ticed cell­phones were miss­ing from the house.

An 18-year-old man was is­sued with a traf­fic in­fringe­ment no­tice af­ter he left the road and went through a fence on Lands­downe Rd.

A 19-year-old man was ar­rested for bur­glary af­ter two peo­ple were no­ticed walk­ing into a Kauri Cr ad­dress. Fur­ther in­quiries are be­ing made. Po­lice be­lieve the ad­dress was tar­geted for a rea­son.

An 18-year-old was charged with driv­ing with ex­cess breath al­co­hol.

A 27-year-old man was ar­rested for driv­ing with ex­cess breath al­co­hol and dis­qual­i­fied from driv­ing af­ter he was found re­vers­ing on Broad­way with­out lights, driv­ing around town at ex­ces­sive speeds and driv­ing on the wrong side of the road through var­i­ous in­ter­sec­tions.

Po­lice at­tended a one-ve­hi­cle crash on State High­way 29 in bad weather con­di­tions. No in­juries were sus­tained.

A man was charged with driv- ing with ex­cess breath al­co­hol af­ter po­lice were called to an ad­dress where the man had driven to. Due to his in­tox­i­cated state he had driven to the wrong ad­dress. He is due to ap­pear in court.

Po­lice are in­ves­ti­gat­ing the theft of a white and black Suzuki DR200 farm bike stolen overnight from Wa­haroa.

A bur­glary was re­ported af­ter a garage was bro­ken into on Sh­effield St and beer was taken. Fri­day March 25. 7.18am. Re­sponded to a truck that had rolled on State High­way 1 north of Piarere. They were back­ing up the Ti­rau Fire Ser­vice.
