Residents come home to intruders
Matamata Police investigated a burglary on Banks Rd after two men, one in his early 20s and one in his late 20s, were at the house when the occupants arrived home. The two men left after asking for a person and then the occupants noticed cellphones were missing from the house.
An 18-year-old man was issued with a traffic infringement notice after he left the road and went through a fence on Landsdowne Rd.
A 19-year-old man was arrested for burglary after two people were noticed walking into a Kauri Cr address. Further inquiries are being made. Police believe the address was targeted for a reason.
An 18-year-old was charged with driving with excess breath alcohol.
A 27-year-old man was arrested for driving with excess breath alcohol and disqualified from driving after he was found reversing on Broadway without lights, driving around town at excessive speeds and driving on the wrong side of the road through various intersections.
Police attended a one-vehicle crash on State Highway 29 in bad weather conditions. No injuries were sustained.
A man was charged with driv- ing with excess breath alcohol after police were called to an address where the man had driven to. Due to his intoxicated state he had driven to the wrong address. He is due to appear in court.
Police are investigating the theft of a white and black Suzuki DR200 farm bike stolen overnight from Waharoa.
A burglary was reported after a garage was broken into on Sheffield St and beer was taken. Friday March 25. 7.18am. Responded to a truck that had rolled on State Highway 1 north of Piarere. They were backing up the Tirau Fire Service.
