Pod project response

Matamata Chronicle - - News/opinion -

Thank you for printing the article regarding the sewing project of 50 pepi-pod covers to help out the bedding project for babies in Christchurch. The Matamata Chronicle is a great medium for communicating with our community. The response was great and I’d like to thank the following women for their input.

Material donations came from, Lila Walker, Jo Marshall, Meg Downs and sister, and our Community Chest Op Shop.

Cutters and sewers included Moni Windlin, Treena Hunter, Trisha Gavin, Margaret Edwards and myself. We made 62 pepi-pods. It was easy to undertake this project with the group support and co-operation.

A big thank you also goes out to Gary Jeffcoate from Matamata Furniture Movers who has transported the pepi-pods to Christchurch, free of charge.

With community support like this, projects are achievable.

On behalf of the Christchurch babies a big thank you once again.
