More woollen singlets sought

Matamata Chronicle - - News/opinion -

Two weeks ago it was reported in the Matamata Chronicle that Robyn Gordon was trying to find a knitting group.

To her delight she has not only found one but had bags of knitting donated to her to send off to Christchurch.

Her aim was to knit socks, sing- lets, booties and hats for children in Christchurch who have been left with nothing. With winter approaching she said there were many children who would need the extra warmth.

Before all the goods are sent to Christchurch, Ms Gordon is hoping to get extra singlets.

‘‘All I’m asking for is anyone around Matamata who can knit, to knit just one children’s woollen singlet. If everyone who can knit made one, we would help a lot of children.’’

If you are able to knit a singlet, or have some goods to donate, contact Ms Gordon on 888 1463.
