Matamata Chronicle - - News -

From coaches to exercise class leaders, there are many people in the Matamata community donating their time to make sure sport and physical activity options are available.

Volunteers Awareness Week is June 19-25 and Sport Waikato wants to make sure those special people who donate their time receive the acknowledgment over this week that they deserve.

Sport Waikato District coordinator Ruth Stanley said volunteers were essential in the suc- cess of sport and physical activity.

‘‘They give up their valuable time to coach our children or manage our sports teams and without them, we would not have sport.’’

Ms Stanley said nomination forms had been sent to clubs and schools seeking names of volunteers. These volunteers will be invited to functions during Volunteers Awareness Week.

For a nomination form, contact Ruth on ruths@sportwaikato.org.nz, phone 027 4783 077 or 07 880 9088.
