Link sus­pected in shed bur­glar­ies

Three sep­a­rate sheds were en­tered on Tai­hoa Rd South and a fourth prop­erty was dis­turbed on March 6.

A red Land Rover was taken at the first prop­erty, a chain­saw at the sec­ond and 40 litres of diesel at the third.

The Land Rover was later found on Old Te Aroha Rd, when an­other bur­glary was re­ported af­ter a Ford Courier four-wheel drive reg­is­tra­tion num­ber NU6051 and a Honda TRX 2000 quad bike were taken.

Mata­mata Po­lice be­lieve thefts are all linked.

A 22-year-old fe­male was ar­rested af­ter fail­ing to ap­pear at court.

The Mata­mata CIB trav­elled to Matawai and ar­rested a 26-year-old man for ag­gra­vated bur­glary at a Te Poi ad­dress in mid Jan­uary.

A 34-year old Ro­torua man was ar­rested and charged with ag­gra­vated bur­glary in re­la­tion to a Te Poi bur­glary in mid Jan­uary.

It was taken away by a truck with­out per­mis­sion.

A 25-year-old man was ar­rested at a Mata­mata ad­dress. He ap­peared in Hamil­ton District Court on six home bur­glary changes. He is re­manded in cus­tody and is the fourth per­son to be ar­rested in re­la­tion to the bur­glary spree that has hit Mata­mata over the past six months.

A 17-year-old man was ar­rested for re­fus­ing a blood test af­ter a ve­hi­cle was stopped on Matipo St

and for re­sist­ing po­lice.

A 17-year old girl was charged af­ter driv­ing with ex­cess breath al­co­hol.
