Time for pub­lic sub­mis­sions on coun­cil projects

Mor­rinsville waste­water treat­ment plant will take place which will ben­e­fit our com­mu­nity and in­dus­tries, and meet higher en­vi­ron­men­tal stan­dards;

all the trans­fer sta­tions in the district will be up­graded;

He­tana St in Mata­mata will be up­graded to im­prove ac­cess for tourists;




in Wa­haroa will be con­nected to the waste­water sys­tem, which has health ben­e­fits for the whole Wa­haroa com­mu­nity.

These are only a few of the projects out­lined in the coun­cil’s draft an­nual plan.

As well as these new projects, the coun­cil will con­tinue to sup­ply and main­tain es­sen­tial ser­vices like roads, wa­ter, waste­water and refuse col­lec­tion. If you have com­ments on any of the planned projects or the pro­posed rates in­crease it is im­por­tant that you lodge a sub­mis­sion on the draft an­nual plan.

You can view a sum­mary of the draft plan and the full doc­u­ment, and col­lect a sub­mis­sion form from any district coun­cil of­fice or li­brary, or you can view the doc­u­ments and make sub­mis­sion on­line at www.mpdc.govt.nz. Sub­mis­sions are open un­til May 4 (please note that the clos­ing date for sub­mis­sions was in­cor­rectly printed in the letter that was sent to all ratepay­ers out­lin­ing the pro­posed change to their rates; the cor­rect clos­ing date for sub­mis­sions is May 4).
