Time for public submissions on council projects
Morrinsville wastewater treatment plant will take place which will benefit our community and industries, and meet higher environmental standards;
all the transfer stations in the district will be upgraded;
Hetana St in Matamata will be upgraded to improve access for tourists;
in Waharoa will be connected to the wastewater system, which has health benefits for the whole Waharoa community.
These are only a few of the projects outlined in the council’s draft annual plan.
As well as these new projects, the council will continue to supply and maintain essential services like roads, water, wastewater and refuse collection. If you have comments on any of the planned projects or the proposed rates increase it is important that you lodge a submission on the draft annual plan.
You can view a summary of the draft plan and the full document, and collect a submission form from any district council office or library, or you can view the documents and make submission online at www.mpdc.govt.nz. Submissions are open until May 4 (please note that the closing date for submissions was incorrectly printed in the letter that was sent to all ratepayers outlining the proposed change to their rates; the correct closing date for submissions is May 4).
