Man hand him­self over; learner driver car hit

A 43-year-old man was ar­rested af­ter he handed him­self into po­lice.

Po­lice were look­ing for him in re­la­tion to breach of re­lease con­di­tions.

Po­lice at­tended a mo­tor ve­hi­cle ac­ci­dent on Gunn Rd af­ter a young man who was tak­ing driv- ing lessons failed to give way and the ve­hi­cle he was driv­ing was hit.

Overnight a tan­dem trailer, reg­is­tra­tion num­ber N591U, was stolen from a con­tract­ing firm at Te Poi.

Two silage wraps were also taken, but one has been re­cov­ered.

A burnt out ve­hi­cle was lo­cated on Scher­ers Rd, Wa­haroa.

It had been stolen the

day be­fore in Whakatane.

A 30-year-old man was ar­rested on two charges of bur­glary.

A 32-year-old man was ar­rested for breach of a pro­tec­tion or­der.

Po­lice at­tended a mo­tor ve­hi­cle ac­ci­dent on the Kaimai Ranges where a ve­hi­cle spun out of con- trol and came to a stop on its roof. No in­juries were sus­tained.

An­other ve­hi­cle trav­el­ling up the Kaimai Ranges lost con­trol and spun into the path of a truck. The driver suf­fered swelling and bruis­ing to the face.

A 25-year-old man was ar­rested for pos­ses­sion of a firearm with­out a li­cence.
