Seniors gather for convivial day

Matamata Chronicle - - News -

A wet Saturday was no deterrent for a group of enthusiastic 60s Up Matamata members who descended on the Horse & Jockey for lunch and camaraderie.

The atmosphere during lunch was relaxed with a lot of chatter, frivolity and enjoyment.

Many members find that such an outing is the ideal way to relieve the loneliness of a weekend.

The group can certainly look forward to more socialising during the next few months.

Earlier this month 60s Up Matamata held its first annual meeting with the main purpose being to elect officers to lead the programme over the next year. Twenty-seven members attended. The new committee is Val Service as president and Shirley MacLean as secretary/ treasurer supported by Graeme Duff, Loma Barron and Marie Carr. Membership is growing steadily and will continue to do so under the enthusiastic leaders elected.

For more information contact Mrs Service on 888 4162 or Mrs MacLean on 888 8724.
