Subdivision rules first up in rolling review
Matamata-Piako District Council is reviewing the rural subdivision rules in the district plan and needs community feedback.
The Resource Man- agement Act requires the council to review the plan within 10 years of adoption.
The Matamata-Piako District Plan was adopted in 2005 and the council is planning on completing a rolling review by 2015.
The rural subdivision evaluation is the first stage of the review.
Part one of the review requires the community to think about what they like and do not like about the present rules.
‘‘It’s important that the community tells us what it thinks of our rules during the feedback stage.
‘‘ We will then consider all responses and come up with options for moving forward,’’ the council’s group manager environmental services Dennis Bellamy said.
