Cold snap brings snow
If you felt a major drop in the temperature earlier this week it was probably because it was snowing everywhere including Matamata, where parts of the Kaimai ranges were sprinkled with snow.
Much of the Waikato woke to a frost on Tuesday morning while around the country icy conditions continue to close roads and disrupt flights, with police renewing warnings for motorists to be cautious. The MetService said the worst of the cold snap which brought snow, power cuts and soaring firewood sales was over.
These photos were taken on Monday morning from Findlater St and Maisey Rd.
