Bus-ting to see cup
Lucas McIver will be trading in his chickens for a tour of New Zealand next month as he gears up for the 2011 Rugby World Cup.
He is one of many Matamata rugby fans doing their bit to support the All Blacks at the world cup which runs from September 9 to October 23.
The chicken farmer from Wardville has bought a 1956 Bedford bus and converted it into an All Black Bus.
Mr McIver and six friends will drive to 15 of the games including the semi-final and final at Eden Park Stadium.
The avid rugby fan said he had always wanted to do something like this but it was not until his friend spotted this bus on Trade Me that he could make it happen. ‘‘The truck was already black. We bought it from Wanaka flew down and drove it back up and put the finishing touches on,’’ he said.
Watch out for the All Black Bus at games or follow it on Twitter at @TheAllBlackBus.
