Drivers rally for school lunch
Most weeks, Firth Primary School’s field is well used by children wanting to hone their rugby or soccer skills or who just enjoy running around on it with their mates.
Last Saturday, that field was littered with collectors’ cars ranging from 1932 until 1980.
The Post-Vintage Car Rally chose Firth Primary as Destination Lunch Stop. Forty-nine cars from all over the North Island stopped off at the school and with principal James Eldridge stepping in as head chef on the barbecue, none of the drivers left with an empty stomach.
A keen crowd also gathered at the school to check out some of the post-vintage beauties.
