Open day at tower fam­ily fun

The Firth Tower Open Day is be­ing held on Oc­to­ber 30 and there will be some­thing for ev­ery­one.

Trea­sure hunts for the chil­dren, cro­quet on the lawn and a wed­ding dress dis­play in the church are all part of the open day ac­tiv­i­ties at the Firth Tower Mu­seum and Re­serve.

‘‘We con­sider it a great way to cel­e­brate the start of sum­mer,’’ said Firth Tower Re­serve Com­mit­tee chair­man Colin Kem­plen.

‘‘ We en­cour­age ev­ery­one to walk, bike or drive out to the tower and have some fun.’’

Mr Kem­plen con­sid­ers the tower to be a lo­cal trea­sure which should be en­joyed by the com­mu­nity. En­try to the open day is free and Devon­shire teas are avail­able for a small charge.
