Cho­ris­ters draw crowds keen to hear car­ols

The joy of Christ­mas was spread through song and mu­sic at the Mata­mata Christ­mas Choir’s 51st An­nual Con­cert Se­ries.

Hundreds of peo­ple packed All Saints Angli­can Church over three nights and a mati­nee per­for­mance to watch the choir, along with other mu­si­cians in­clud­ing lo­cal coun­try mu­sic star Kaye Tap­pin and vis­it­ing artist Eleazar Coron­ado who sang three songs from the Philip­pines.

Con­duc­tor Grant Ma­son showed his ex­per­tise, and the theme of ‘‘ Around the world’’ al­lowed many to share a greet­ing in their own lan­guage. The high­light for those who at­tended was be­ing able to stand up and join in a few Christ­mas car­ols.
