Choristers draw crowds keen to hear carols
The joy of Christmas was spread through song and music at the Matamata Christmas Choir’s 51st Annual Concert Series.
Hundreds of people packed All Saints Anglican Church over three nights and a matinee performance to watch the choir, along with other musicians including local country music star Kaye Tappin and visiting artist Eleazar Coronado who sang three songs from the Philippines.
Conductor Grant Mason showed his expertise, and the theme of ‘‘ Around the world’’ allowed many to share a greeting in their own language. The highlight for those who attended was being able to stand up and join in a few Christmas carols.
