Water safety pro­gramme ex­tended

Ev­ery year the Mata­mata Swim­ming Club runs the Stan­ley Group Swim Safe Pro­gramme. Over the years the club has worked with more than 1500 chil­dren and teenagers.

This year Stan­ley Group pro­vided additional spon­sor­ship for school stu­dents to par­tic­i­pate in the five­week, 10- les­son swim safe pro­gramme.

The schools that took up spon­sor­ship were Mata­mata Pri­mary, Firth Pri­mary, Wal­ton School, Mata­mata Chris­tian School, Mata­mata In­ter­me­di­ate and Te Poi School.

There are now 110 en­rolled swim­mers in the Stan­ley Group Swim Safe Pro­gramme this year.

Build­ing con­fi­dence: There are a lot more Mata­mata chil­dren who are go­ing to be feel­ing safer in the water thanks to the gen­eros­ity of the Stan­ley Group.
