60s Up members enjoy busy months

Matamata Chronicle - - News -

The 60s Up Matamata club has been very busy over the past few months with speakers at regular meetings, the most interesting and informative of these being Jan Barnes, Matamata- Piako District Deputy Mayor.

Jan’s talk gave members a better understanding of what her roll in this position entails, what responsibilities she has on the council and how she is totally committed to Matamata.

In November, 60s Up members embarked on a trip to Cambridge Trash and Treasure Mart.

Members piled into a mini van and headed to Mitre 10 Mega Store Cafe where they enjoyed an excellent brunch ready for a full-on market experience.

On arriving back to the mini van at the designated time, a decision was made. Firstly no-one wanted to go home and then it was decided to go somewhere for lunch.

As Cambridge town was very busy they stopped off for lunch at The Powerhouse at Lake Karapiro.

The group didn’t have a booking but were made very welcome and seated with an excellent view of the lake from this great venue.

Last week 60s Up Matamata held its last gathering for the year, a Christmas function.

The 60s Up Matamata club has a full and varied calendar in place for 2012.
