Going solo is taking off
Seventy enthusiastic teenagers from around the country had the adventure of a lifetime at the Walsh Flying School held at Waharoa Aero Club over the past two weeks.
The annual camp was a hit with the students who were taught how to fly and many even completed a solo flight, much to their delight.
Organiser Gordon Ragg said the team loves hosting the event in Matamata because there is such excellent community support and he believed Waharoa had one of the best grass airfields in the country.
