was se­lected to com­pete in the Fed­er­a­tion In­ter­na­tionale de Vol­ley­ball Youth World Cham­pi­onships in Por­tu­gal.

This year within her ‘‘con­fer­ence’’ in Amer­ica, which is made up of vol­ley­ball teams from about 10 dif­fer­ent uni­ver­si­ties, she was hon­oured by the Colo­nial Ath­letic As­so­ci­a­tion and named Rookie of the Year, which she said was a great way to fin­ish her first sea­son there.

‘‘It was pretty cool. I guess I got it be­cause I was a fresh­man so had a lot of court time which helped to put my stats up quite a bit.’’
