Air­show car­ni­val re­turns

Mata­mata peo­ple are in for a treat when the Air­show and Fam­ily Car­ni­val re­turns to the Wa­haroa Air­field on March 4.

The event will show­case some of the area’s best tal­ent when it comes to aer­o­bat­ics dis­plays, mil­i­tary reen­act­ments and other en­ter­tain­ment. All pro­ceeds from the day will be do­nated to com­mu­nity hos­pi­tals.

In 2010 more than 2000 peo­ple at­tended the show which was much more than or­gan­is­ers ex­pected, so be­ing a ‘‘ bit bet­ter off’’ when it comes to mar­ket­ing this year, they are hop­ing for an even big­ger turnout.

‘‘It was a great suc­cess so we de­cided to do it again,’’ Mr Ryan said. ‘‘It is some­thing I in­tend to keep build­ing on and de­vel­op­ing.’’

The air­field will be open from 8.30am but the dis­plays and en­ter­tain­ment be­gin at 10am and run un­til mid af­ter­noon.
