Airshow carnival returns
Matamata people are in for a treat when the Airshow and Family Carnival returns to the Waharoa Airfield on March 4.
The event will showcase some of the area’s best talent when it comes to aerobatics displays, military reenactments and other entertainment. All proceeds from the day will be donated to community hospitals.

In 2010 more than 2000 people attended the show which was much more than organisers expected, so being a ‘‘ bit better off’’ when it comes to marketing this year, they are hoping for an even bigger turnout.
‘‘It was a great success so we decided to do it again,’’ Mr Ryan said. ‘‘It is something I intend to keep building on and developing.’’
The airfield will be open from 8.30am but the displays and entertainment begin at 10am and run until mid afternoon.
