There will be shows from the Tauranga Classic Flyers Club, joyrides, New Zealand’s number one display pilot Phil Hooker who is just ‘‘brilliant to watch’’, full military re- enactment with ‘‘ lots of displays and explosions’’, and aviation displays including sky diving, glider, Polaris and gyrocopter aerobatics.
For spectators looking for something other than aviation, Irish dance company Celtic Fusion will be performing along with a Matamata College Rock Band and dancers.
‘‘One of the other big things planned that will be a crowd pleaser will be a race car and motocross bike taking on a plane and racing it,’’ Mr Ryan said.
‘‘We are holding this day because it is something for the community to come out to and enjoy – it is about having a day for families. ‘‘So come on out, there will be lots happening and we are still in the process of organising even more events for the day.’’
