At­tacks prompt in­for­ma­tion call

Po­lice are ask­ing for help af­ter two ag­gra­vated rob­beries in Mata­mata over the past week.

The first rob­bery was on March 13 when two men were as­saulted by three men near the skate park late at night.

The at­tack­ers drove away in a grey or dark coloured four-door sedan.

The sec­ond in­ci­dent hap­pened about 4am on Fri­day, March 16, when two of­fend­ers at­tacked a per­son on Smith St.

They drove away in white four-door sedan.

Both in­ci­dents in­volved items be­ing taken.

Po­lice do not be­lieve the in­ci­dents are re­lated but are look­ing for in­for­ma­tion about them.

An 18-year-old man was ar­rested for breach of bail

Two teenagers were ar­rested for fight­ing at the in­ter­sec­tion of Wa­haroa East Rd and Broad­way.

In the early hours two 17- year- old youths were dealt with for a breach of the liquor ban on Broad­way. Liquor was seized from the pair.

A 20-year-old man was ar­rested for an as­sault in which the vic­tim’s arm was bro­ken.

An 18- year- old woman was ar­rested in re­la­tion to the pre­vi­ous as­sault. Satur­day, March 17

7.51pm: Re­sponded to a med­i­cal as­sist in Mata­mata. Sun­day, March 18 2.30am: Re­sponded to a skip on fire at Sed­don St in Wa­haroa.
