Bowlers to play corner to corner

Matamata Chronicle - - Sport -

The Grants’ Corner to Corner Bowls Tournament is coming to Matamata on Saturday, March 24 and will be held at the Rewa Bowling Club once again. Don Cox will compete in the regional tournament.

Starting from 10.30am the annual tournament is a new concept in bowls competitions. Most players are aware of corner to corner play as an informal game played once formal club competition play has finished.

Grants’ Corner to Corner Tournament aims to preserve this relaxed spirit but also provide a standard format to allow competition between players and clubs on a national basis with the national final winner receiving $3000 cash for their club.

There is also $1000 for the club that puts on the best ‘‘Grants’ evening’’.
