With plans for the China tour already in place, efforts to fundraise for this event are under way by Matamata College, including a mufti day.
Last year Jessica was in the National Secondary Schools Brass Band, and a trip to Timaru this year for the National Brass Band Championships is waiting in the wings after the tour.
‘‘Being involved in the New Zealand Youth Brass Band will give me heaps of experience for the future. I’m really looking forward to the China tour,’’ she said.
