Mitsubishi awards honour to local dealer

Matamata Chronicle - - News -

Matamata’s Baigent Motors is the first Mitsubishi service and parts dealer in New Zealand to be capped as Diamond Dealers.

The business was awarded the coveted title at the Mitsubishi 2012 black tie awards in Taupo last month.

Manager Justin Scelly said the award was unexpected but he felt his team had earned it.

‘‘I’m really proud of the guys. We work pretty hard to offer the best customer service,’’ Mr Scelly said.

‘‘We have always prided ourselves on honesty and being an old fashioned style of company.’’

The legacy of the J Swap Contractors group-owned business in Firth St stretches back to 1948 and Mr Scelly said it was important to him that it continue to be run as a family business.

‘‘We try our best to carry on the traditions and values that the business started out with all those years ago.‘‘

The Mitsubishi Diamond Dealer trophy is awarded to dealers who excel in sales, customer service and dealership operations.
