Golfers chip in for hospital wing

Matamata Chronicle - - News -

It seemed as though half of Matamata turned up at the golf club on Friday to chip in for Pohlen.

The annual TRAC Sports Bar Golf for Pohlen tournament drew a record number of players – even jockey Lance O’sullivan was on hand to man the barbecue.

Major sponsor Tony Bailey said the day was an outstanding success with 27 teams on the green and a record amount of money raised. All proceeds from the day will go towards the building of the new wing at Pohlen Hospital.

The New Zealand Community Trust also made a significant donation.

Ready to go: Maria Mcpike was keen to head out on to the green at the Golf for Pohlen tournament.
